BIS in Northern Virginia
In Partnership with Northern Virginia Community College

At Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), you can finish what you started with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) degree from U.Va. by attending convenient evening and weekend classes in Northern Virginia at the Alexandria campus. Other NVCC campuses will follow as more students enter the BIS at NOVA program.

The University of Virginia and Northern Virginia Community College offer an adult degree completion program exclusively for current and former students of NVCC. BIS is a part-time but rigorous, undergraduate degree program with evening and weekend classes designed to meet the educational needs of the adult student.

Students applying to the U.Va. BIS at NOVA must:

·         Have 60 semester credits of transferrable college course work (at least 15 transferrable credits from NVCC) with a grade of C or better from one or more regionally accredited colleges or universities;

·         Be in good standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA from NVCC;

·         Be at least four years past high school graduation;

·         Have no previous degree from a four-year institution.
