Certificate in Nanotechnology
(Available at
multiple sites around Virginia)
The leading universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia have developed a distance learning program to make graduate-level courses in nanotechnology easily available to qualified engineers through the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP).
Graduate-level courses in nanotechnology are broadcast via video conferencing from classrooms on campus to sites in Virginia as well as out of state. The classes are received live, and students are able to participate fully in all classroom discussions. Classes are scheduled in late afternoon and early evening hours.
Nanotechnology courses are offered in the following areas:
Nanotechnology Fundamentals
Nanobiotechnology
Nanomodeling and Simulation
Nanomaterials and Characterization
Nanomanufacturing
Nanoelectronics
Students interested in the program have the opportunity to work towards a certificate in any one of the areas listed above (except for Nanotechnology Fundamentals).
