Certificate in Workforce Development(Available at our University Center)
Our Certificate in Workforce Development is designed for individuals interested in pursuing careers in workforce development or for those working as:
- College administrators and faculty with responsibility for workforce/economic development activities
- Educators and trainers in universities and colleges
- Secondary school educators and career counselors
- Human resources professionals
- Workforce, community, and economic development practitioners
- Private sector trainers
- Proprietary school personnel.
The nine-credit professional graduate program prepares workforce development professionals by:
- Exploring the necessary competencies and providing opportunities to hone those abilities.
- Assessing strengths and weaknesses, and developing an action plan for skill enhancement where necessary.
- Providing a framework to apply the competencies in current work settings and job responsibilities.
Courses combine live classroom and web-based instruction, self-directed learning, and a practicum experience in the workplace. A bachelor's degree is required to enroll in the program. Students must successfully complete the three sequential courses to earn the certificate.
