Strategic Planning for Non-Profits

Course Description: Sound planning that addresses the limiting conditions of the organization as well as builds on strengths and opportunities is essential for any nonprofit’s growth and sustainability. Participants in this course will learn not only about the benefits of engaging in a strategic planning process but also about the value of a strategic plan as a governance tool. The respective roles of the Board, staff, and facilitator will be defined. Common techniques will be described. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of what is required of an organization that makes a commitment to establishing and adhering to a strategic plan.

Prerequisites: This course is designed for executive directors, managers and board members at non-profit organizations.
