PC 520 Project Schedule, Cost, and Budget Control
Course Description: The Project Schedule and Cost Control course will introduce students to a variety of project scheduling and cost control techniques that are vital if a project is to meet its schedule and cost goals and objectives. The course will concentrate on the variety of scheduling techniques (Gantt Chart, Critical Path Method, and Program Evaluation Review Technique) that can be used to guide and monitor project performance. Activities that are critical in preparing a realistic schedule will be explored, discussed, and practiced. The students will then be introduced to a variety of budgeting, cost estimating, and cost control techniques. Students will then be introduced to Earn Value Management techniques that can be applied to the schedule to allow the project manager and team to determine if a project is meeting its cost and scheduling performance objectives. Students will be introduced to the various ratios used in Earned Value analysis. At the completion of this course students will be able to develop and implement a schedule and apply Earned Value Analysis techniques to determine if the project is meeting its schedule and cost performance.
