Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid

The 2009-2010 Post-Bac Pre-Med Program tuition, as approved by the University of Virginia's Board of Visitors, is as follows:

In-state* tuition and fees - $23,500
Out-of-state tuition and fees - $28,500

The total tuition and fees include all labs & technology fees and required program and support activities.  Room and board are not included in these rates. 

Program Deposit
Admitted students must secure their place in the program  student cohort  by submitting a nonrefundable deposit of $350.00.  This deposit will guarantee the accepted applicant as a member of the Post-Bac Pre-Med entering class.  The deposit must be made by the designated deadline following the formal admission of offer into the Program.  This deposit will be credited toward your overall Program tuition.

Student Financial Aid
Federal Stafford loans may be available to individuals demonstrating financial need.  To apply for student financial aid from the federal government you will need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The University of Virginia FAFSA code is 003745.

In addition, private loans to finance educational costs may be available through banking institutions.

*In-state status -U.Va. is a state-supported school and students who are legally domiciled within the Commonwealth enjoy significant privileges in admission and in tuition. Students must apply for Virginia status by completing the Application for Virginia In-State Educational Privileges, which is available as part of our application for admission.  Please see the Virginia Status for more information.
